Here's the deal on Josh Smith.

OK. Now that Josh Smooth has thoroughly embarrassed the franchise. Let’s talk about what it means and what it meant. Josh didn’t mean anything about it. I think he was attempting to make the building explode. I think that he was showboating but not in a ‘we are kicking your butt’ kind of way. It was a ‘we are a better team and I and this much better and we are here’ type of showboating. He wanted to make sports center. He wanted to blow up youtube. The series has been getting a little chippy so he also wanted to make a cocky statement. Remember, he did win a slam dunk contest; he just wanted to let the world know he could still jump.

With that being said, IT WAS STUPID. I totally disagree. I don’t think Lebron would do it. He has had breakaways and he hasn’t done it yet. He might do it in the championship game win they are winning by 20 with 2 minutes to go. He will not allow the challenger to have bulletin board material. This is what coach Woodson has been fighting for years, the childish, immature core nature of Josh. This is why Josh is stuck in the middle. He could be a top tier player . . . but he just hasn’t grown up yet. Will he ever?

We’ll see if these boys can pull this thing off and go on to play those Cavs.

Wow Josh, Wow.

I can’t even watch the rest of the game. I am so embarrassed by Josh Smith missing that between the leg dunk. He blew my high for real.

Falcon's Draft, Hawks Bounce Back. . . I guess.

The Hawks bounce Back. . . let’s see if we can keep it going. I still need Joe to give me Mo’. I also need Josh Smith to be a little less Rasheed Wallace.

Falcons Draft Recap

Peria (Pur - ray) Jerry was a first-team All-America selection by the Associated Press and ESPN following the 2008 season. He finished the year ranked first in the SEC in tackles for loss (18.0), fifth in quarterback sacks (7.0) and tied for sixth in forced fumbles (two). A consensus first-team All-SEC selection, Jerry also helped the Rebel defense rank second in the conference and fourth in the nation in rush defense (85.5 ypg.) last year. We all know how badly we need to strengthen the defense up the middle.

Keeping that in mind we got William Moore. “A strong safety/free safety which provides a lot of versatility for us,” said Falcons General Manager Thomas Dimitroff. “He is a downhill, blow-you-up kind of tackler. He’s a guy that is very physical on the field, but he also has range. He is a mid 4.4 guy so he has speed for us. This guy definitely brings speed and urgency to our football team and this defense.” Two things we sorely need from our secondary.

After that we get into some unknown commodities.

Chris Owens, CB, San Jose State – Hopefully he will pan out and at least give us an extra nickel or dime DB. Maybe he can turn into something special.

Lawrence Sidbury, DE, Richmond – MVP of the NCAA Championship game of division II. We need bodies that can actually rush the quarterback. He’s another hopeful

William Middleton, CB, Furman – Graduated from Marist and seems to have some upside going forward.

Garrett Reynolds, OL, UNC – Can you say Hog Molly? He should see action soon.

Spencer Adkins, LB, the U – He may start off as a platoon back or a practice squad linebacker. He is from the U so he should be fast if nothing else. This is another hopeful pick.

Vance Walker, DT, GT – Played on a very good GT defense and started for three years. He should make the squad as a platoon DT

Overall Falcon Draft Grade – A- or B+. I’m leaning this way because we attempted to address our most notable needs. We will see if these guys pan out. If they do, the draft will be an A. Don’t forget we have the best TE of all time in Tony Gonzalez . . . Yeah I said it!

We Got the Man, the Myth, the Legend Tony Gonzalez

HOW YOU LIKE US NOW!
"With Matt Ryan, Michael Turner, Roddy White and now myself, we have the chance to be in the top 5 in the league in offense every year. How could I not be excited to join that team?" - Tony Gonzalez

Can you imagine how much Matt is going to learn from Tony? This is going to take Matt and the offense to a WHOLE, NOTHER, LEVEL! Our defense is trash but we might be looking a great offensive product on the field. The question still remains. . . will we make the playoffs with an above .500 record? It's never happened. . .

Go Hawks! ! ! Go Braves! ! ! and Go Out this weekend and enjoy yourself! ! !

HAWKS LOOSE!?! No suprise.

Well, Well, Well.

Maybe Joe Johnson will wake up and recognize what a NBA baller means. All the skill, where is the will. We will see what the Hawks are really made of.

The rest of the league is holding about true to form. Good action is going on in all of the games. I'm really loving the leauge.

Get your mock drafts ready for the weekend.

Mr. GA Boy #2’s thoughts about the Hawks 90-64 win over the Heat.

We just did what we needed to do, win a home game in the playoffs. Let’s see if we can maintain that level of defensive intensity. If we do, we can get out of this series a little earlier that I thought.

NBA Basketball is FANTASTIC! ! !

NBA Basketball is FANTSTIC! ! !

This is why the NBA is only second fiddle to the NFL. The PLAYOFFS! Yes, Yes Ya’ll, once again it’s on! Who you got! Let’s chop it up.

The Hawks will get to the second round at best. We are going to have a beast of a time with the Heat and Mr. Wade. I like the Hawks in seven.

The Caves looked good against a bad team. Hard to believe the Pistons are a bad team, but they are right now. The Lakers looked good against a better team. Chicago does have a fighting chance if they can keep their composure and play within themselves. There might be a lot of lower seeds defeating higher seeds but I wouldn’t quite consider them upsets. It really looks like David Stern and company are going to get exactly what they want, Mamba vs. King.

John Madden RETIRES! ! ! OMG. NBC alert!

What is we gone do! John Madden, the man, the myth, the legend . . . has retired. It's been one heck of a ride and I am glad to see him walk away on a high note. I have one question. . . WHO IS GOING TO REPLACE HIM? CHRIS COLLINSWORTH?

Chris replaced him on Madden 09 but in the announcers’ booth? Really? How do you even begin to replace him? Do you replace him or do you replace the crew all together? It’s going to be interesting over at NBC to see what they come up with. My candidate. . . Deion Sanders and James Brown! A brother can dream . . . can’t he.

Charlie Weis should stop thinking about quitting and do it already. Return to the Pats as OC and win a couple of titles and call it a day. While we’re talking about it . . . Romeo should do the same thing. It’s better to be a cog in the wheel of a prize winning automobile than to be the owner of a hoopty.

Game 2 Miami at Atlanta, Wednesday April 22 8 p.m. TNT

Hawks win. . . Whoop Tee Doo.

Your Atlanta Hawks. . . (Thunder sticks), beat the Miami Heat but it was really unimpressive. Basically a lot of fronting for the playoffs. Dewayne Wade didn't even play. Speedy Claxton got a point and an assist and a foul. That's about it. Oh, by the way, a league official told Ryan Cameron (Hawks Announcer and Radio Personality) that he couldn't say "That Foul is Offensive" per league rules. That's some BS. What the deuce!

Why is Speedy Claxton Playing!

And where is Acie Law IV? I'm confused. I thought we gave up on Speedy. Why are we wasting our time with that dude when we have Acie Law and WHY ISN'T ACIE LAW PLAYING! ! !

Too much going on. . . Where do I begin

What's happening family!

Those Braves. The bullpen is gonna bite us in the behind again this year it seems. Blew a lead to the World Champs in the 7th. Mind you, we could've opened the season with a sweep of the World Champs. Instead we took 2 out of 3 and it feels like we lost all three.

Your Atlanta Hawks, *thunder sticks*, are getting Marvin Williams back soon and should be healthy for the playoffs. It looks like the first round opponent will be Dewayne Wade and the Miami Heat. Tough draw. I can't make my prediction yet but we will see.

Those Falcons traded my boy Laurent Robinson to St. Louis to improve draft position. Unfortunately for him, he couldn't stay healthy last season. I hope this isn't one of those moves that will come back to haunt the Falconies down the line. It probably won't but we'll see.

The Atlanta Dream picked up Angel McCoughtry from Louisville with the number one pick overall. Add that to a vertan like Chamique Holdsclaw and recently acquired Michelle Snow and it looks like we might have a formidable team! Don't forget Ivory Latta.

Tiger shot a 70 in the first round which is an ok start for him. It matched his best first round score at the masters.
